Virtual Reality Portfolio

Virtual Reality refers to computer constructions of proposed environments.

Photoshop image creations

An historic synagogue had created doors with the following 'star of David' etched into the surface.  This created a perfect background for an image detailing Jewish Environmentalism.

The process of choosing colors for a new stained glass window to be installed requires the agreement of several key people.  Before such an agreement can be reached, it is necessary to provide accurate color drawings.

This image is a transparent line drawing with glass samples attached in order  to demonstrate how the different stained glass panels will interact.

Photoshop provides a wondrous amount of tools with which photos can become digital works of art in their own right.  This image was an experiment with mirroring and mixed inverted/normal images.
We who dream of safe cities and communities will sometimes build images to exemplify our hopes for the future.

AutoCad 3-D Environments

In creating a presentation for a proposed loft design, it was necessary to create an interior perspective with materials clearly delineated.  This early experiment in AutoCad manipulation opened doors to future constructions.

The Port Authority of New York has been in charge of the design for the Airtrain at Jamaica.  This enterprise contained innumerable facets to be designed and implemented.  One of these elements was a guard booth for security within the station.

The booth was meant to conform to the section of a cylinder sliced at 30 degrees.  This overall concept became the mold for the structural elements of this booth.

Because of it's complexity, a 3D computer model was necessary before a physical model could be constructed.

During the reconstruction of this suburban house in Bellmore, it was necessary to gain an understanding of the house's space.  Therefore a computer model was created to demonstrate how the building would function.
In order to build a trailer with a 250 lb carrying capacity, I had to create numerous 2D and 3D drawings.  These allowed me to test the viability of the design before fabrication.

This is the first object rendering which I've done entirely in Photoshop.  Normally AutoCad was used to create the structure itself.  In this case the perspective necessitated the creation in Photoshop.  But working with other images, it wasn't difficult to create a realistic drawing.
The original intersection of Marginal Street and 125th.  Paved areas are excessively broad while sidewalks and medians are barely in existence.
This computer image was created in order to demonstrate how certain changes in the layout of 125th street could improve the street life of the area.  First a 3-D AutoCad model was created, and then the model was inserted behind the original photograph to create a realistic proposal.
